The Legend Of The Loch Ness Monster: Overview
The legend of the Loch Ness Monster has made for a popular attraction for the Scottish lochs for nearly a hundred years. But the legend of the monster is much older than that. Reports of the creature go back to 600 AD when someone was reportedly saved from getting eaten by the monster.
There have been no recent reports of people getting eaten by the monster, but there are many reports of sightings of the monster every year. People have been trying to find the monster for decades. People are still trying to find it today. The question remains, is the Loch Ness monster real, or is it just a hoax?
There are many theories as to what the Loch Ness Monster is. The most common theory is that if the Loch Ness Monster is real, it is most likely a plesiosaur. A plesiosaur is an ancient reptile that is said to have survived since the age of the dinosaurs.
This dinosaur is said to have a long neck, a boat-like body, and either flippers or feet or both to move around with. Skeptics find it hard to believe that a dinosaur of any kind could have survived when all others went extinct millions of years ago.
However, those who believe in this theory suggest that the monster was able to survive throughout all of these years. This is because of underground tunnels that lead into Loch Ness. When you think about it, it’s not impossible that a large creature could survive, even from the time of the dinosaurs. After all, sharks were alive millions of years ago. Even though they have evolved, they are still alive today.
Description and Belief of Loch Ness Monster
The Loch Ness Monster may not be a replica of the plesiosaur, but it wouldn’t be unlikely that it is an evolved form of the beast. By evolving, it could be smaller and better suited to living in Loch Ness. Also, be better at hiding, and eating more food sources. Some people who believe in the plesiosaur theory don’t believe that the Loch Ness Monster is alive. But instead, a ghost of a monster from millions of years ago.
Of course, there is more than one theory of what the Loch Ness Monster could be, but none of the other theories are quite imaginative like that of the plesiosaur. Skeptics believe that the monster is anything but a dinosaur. Some people believe the monster is simply a lost seal or a misguided shark. Large fish, birds, and logs floating also lead to claims of Nessie sightings.
Believers argue this, as these creatures look nothing like the dinosaurs that they believe in. However, the skeptics argue that the lake is rather foggy at times. Objects of the foggy lake can easily be mistaken for mythical creatures. The fogginess of the lake has been proven, as many fake pictures of the monster have been taken because of it.
Is This Creature Real Or Not?
Scientists and believers still cannot agree on whether or not the Loch Ness Monster is real or not. Because of this fact, people are still out searching for the creature. This became popular in the early 1930s after a new road was put in near the lake.
In the early 1930s, the most famous picture of the Loch Ness Monster was taken. This was when a couple driving on the new road saw a disturbance in the water.
The picture taken is the one with the monster’s head poking out of the water. Since that first important picture was taken, many more sightings have been reported, and many more pictures have been taken. The hunt for the monster continues to this day. Google Maps is now letting people look for the monster online from the comfort of their own homes.
