Archangels: Who are They?
Angels have been in existence even before the existence of humanity. They are interwoven within the culture of human beings. Angels exist in every religion because they make up the fabric of human history. Archangels seem to be at the top of the angelic hierarchy. They have so much power bestowed upon them by God.
In Greek, Archangel means ‘Chief angel.’ Angels were all created by God, and they all have a purpose to fulfill. The heavenly support that humans have includes God, the archangels, spiritual masters of the past, spirit guides, and loved ones in spirit. Archangels and all other spiritual beings work as messengers of God.
Archangels have been bestowed the power to manage life on Earth. Every archangel has an important role that he or she plays. Each archangel specializes in something that works in conjunction with all of the other archangels’ expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes on Earth. They do all this while working hand in hand with Heaven and according to God’s plan.
No one is sure about the number of archangels that are out there. Some people say only seven exist, others fifteen. At the same time, the Bible recognizes one archangel, that is, archangel Michael because all the other six, that is Archangels Gabriel, Raphael, Jophiel, Ariel, Azrael, and Chamuel, are only mentioned as angels and not archangels. The other archangels recognized in other religions include Archangels Ariana, Daniel/Haniel, Jeremiel, Jophiel, Lavender, Metatron, Melchizedek, Nathaniel, Raguel, Raphael, Raziel, Sandolphon, Seraphiel, Uriel and Zadkiel.
