Emelar

I was born in Vancouver BC and have lived in Victoria BC (mostly) since 1991. I currently live with my 2 children on a lovely hillside on the edge of town. In addition to my passion for learning, I am a life-long social justice advocate and am active in my community through a number of volunteer activities with local Women’s Services Agencies I am not a mainstream thinker. The minutia bogs me down and sucks the life right out of me. Big picture systems really seem to make sense to me. I can see the connections that exist between seemingly unrelated events, readily identify gaps in systems and I am dedicated to promoting a transformation to a more just and equitable world. I think this comes from the Cree side of the family. The traditional ways have always made much more sense to me than the contemporary world and the teachings I carry are pervasive throughout my personal philosophy. My understanding of the teachings was greatly enhanced through the completion of my Master's of Metaphysical Sciences Degree. I have a diverse background that includes an Associates Degree in Biology/Physics, a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/Environmental Studies and a Master’s Degree in Metaphysics. I have written articles, poetry, personal essays, opinion pieces, instruction manuals, how-to’s, successful funding proposals/RFPs, award winning nominations, policy analysis/recommendations and briefing notes on a broad range of topics and have extensive experience developing workshop curriculum, web-site content, project evaluations, annual reports, newsletters and have edited/proofread innumerable essays, reports, articles, business correspondence, resumes, proposals, grant requests, brochures and other written copy. I am known for my ability to quickly understand client needs, develop strong client relationships and create compelling, witty and informative works.
