3. 18th April 1775: Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Samuel Prescott, the American revolutionaries rode through the towns of Massachusetts giving the warning that the Regulars were coming out. The phrase “The British are coming” was later attributed to Revere even though it is unlikely that he used that phrase.
