Keke Palmer is an actress prominent for her role in ‘Akeelah and the Bee’ and ‘Barbershop 2: Back in Business’. She has also pursued a career in singing releasing singles such as, ‘Keep It Moving' and an album titled, ‘So Uncool’ that emerged rank 85 on the R&B Chart.
Early Life
Keke Palmer is a daughter of parents Sharon and Larry Palmer born on August 26, 1993, in Harvey Illinois. Palmer had her first singing role in church but earned her exposure during a stage show at Chicago’s tourist destination. She auditioned for ‘The Lion King’ at the age of nine.
Career
Keke Palmer had her first filming role in 2004, in ‘Barbershop 2: Back in Business’ with a leading role as the niece of Queen Latifah. She moved to California to pursue her singing career where she participated in ‘American Juniors’ in 2003.
Additionally, she signed a deal with Atlantic Records followed by her first performance with a single titled, ‘All My Girlz’ in 2005. During the same year, she appeared in a television film titled, ‘Knights of the South Bronx’ and starred in ‘Second Time Around’ and ‘ER.' She also signed a deal with Disney Channel, but the pilot she played did not air.
Notably, Keke Palmer made her first stadium performance with the VH1’s ‘Save the Music Battle' of the High school marching band competition Carson, California on November 18, 2006. Palmer also sang ‘It’s My Turn Now’ and ‘Jumping’ featured in the Disney Channel’s movie, ‘Jump In!’ which she starred as Mary.
