Childhood and Early Life

Actress Lesley Ann Warren was born on the 16 August 1946 in New York City to William Warren and Margot Verblow. Her family was descended from Jewish Russian immigrants.

Education

Lesley Ann Warren was a pupil at the Professional Children’s School in New York City. She also trained at the American School of ballet and studied drama at the Lee Strasberg Actors Studio.

Rise to Fame

Lesley Ann Warren made her Broadway debut in 110 in the Shade (1963). Other early roles include Dr. Kildare (1961), Drat! The Cat! (1965) and the television musical Cinderella (1965). She was then signed to the Walt Disney Studio and appeared in The Happiest Millionnaire (1967) and The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band (1968). During 1970-1971 she starred in Mission: Impossible.

Career

In the 1970s, Lesley Ann Warren acted in Love Hate Love (1971), The Legend of Valentino (1975), A Deadly State of Mind (1975), 79 Park Avenue (1979) and Portrait of a Stripper (1979). During the 1980s, Race for the Yankee Zephyr (1981), Victor Victoria (1982), A Night in Heaven (1983),  Choose Me (1984), Songwriter (1984)) and Family of Spies (1991), Waiting to Kill: The Texas Cheerleader Story (1992) and Will & Grace (1998).

Later Years

Lesley Ann Warren played the role of Susan’s mother, Sophie on the television series Desperate Housewives (2004). Later work includes It Snows All the Time (2016), Between Us (2016), Life Support (2017) and American Pets (2018).

Awards and Achievements

Lesley Ann Warren won a Best Actress in a Supporting Role Oscar nomination in 1983 for her role in Victor Victoria (1982). Other awards include a Golden Globe nomination in 1991 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television for Family of Spies (1990) and a 1978 Best Actress Golden Globe for 79 Park Avenue (1977).

Personal Life

Lesley Ann Warren's first husband was Jon Peters (m.1967 - div.1974). The couple had one child, a son Christopher born in 1968. Jeffrey Hornaday was her partner in the 1980s. And in 2000, she married Ronald Tait.
