Jeffrey Dahmer was a serial killer from 1978 to 1991. His crimes shocked the world as to the brutality of his murders.
Childhood And Early Life
Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960, in West Allis, Wisconsin near Milwaukee. Jeffrey Dahmer had a younger brother. His father Lionel was a chemistry student at Marquette University for most of his childhood. His mother Joyce was a teletype machine instructor. Because his father was not always there, his mother wanted as much of his attention when Jeffrey Dahmer was at home. At one point, she attempted suicide by drug overdose.
His parents divorced when Jeffrey Dahmer was a teenager in 1978. Jeffrey Dahmer was a quiet student. Jeffrey Dahmer was also known to dismember animals from an early age. The family moved to Ohio in 1966. Jeffrey Dahmer was an outcast during those teen years but was known to play pranks on his peers. However, Jeffrey Dahmer was often intoxicated during school which affected his grades and social life.
Jeffrey Dahmer also knew by that point that he was gay. Jeffrey Dahmer did not have intercourse with anyone. However, Jeffrey Dahmer did consider fantasies and scenarios of attack and control over another person.

Jeffrey Dahmer attended Ohio State University in 1978 with the intent to major in business but dropped out after three months due to the alcoholism that kept him from his studies.
Personal Life And Legacy
In 1978, shortly after his high school graduation, Jeffrey Dahmer picked up a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks. Jeffrey Dahmer brought Hicks home, tried to get him drunk, and killed him with a ten-pound dumbbell. Jeffrey Dahmer dismembered the body, removed the flesh, poured acid on the bones, and scattered the crushed bones behind his home. Jeffrey Dahmer enlisted in the Army in 1979 from the insistence of his father. Jeffrey Dahmer trained as a medical specialist and was stationed at Fort Sam Houston and Baumholder, West Germany. He served as a combat medic.
While in the service, Jeffrey Dahmer was accused of raping two soldiers over the course of his time in West Germany. One more solid believed that Dahmer drugged him to have sex. Jeffrey Dahmer was honorably discharged in 1981 when his alcoholism affected his performance. Jeffrey Dahmer went to live in Miami Beach, Florida and found employment. However, his alcoholism took so much of his money that he could not find a place to live.
Jeffrey Dahmer returned to Ohio but struggled with sobriety. Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct and spent time in jail. Jeffrey Dahmer was sent to live with his grandmother in West Allis, Wisconsin. While Jeffrey Dahmer cleaned up his act and was able to hold a job while living with her, Jeffrey Dahmer started to struggle again when Jeffrey Dahmer was laid off.
During this time, Jeffrey Dahmer was also going to gay bathhouses and bars to meet up with other men. Jeffrey Dahmer would administer sleeping pills to his partners in their drinks. Jeffrey Dahmer was also in trouble with the law due to disorderly conduct and indecent exposure charges.
His second murder happened at the Ambassador Hotel in 1987. While Jeffrey Dahmer did not plan on murdering Steven Tuomi, he did so. Jeffrey Dahmer took the body in a suitcase back to his grandmother's house where Jeffrey Dahmer dismembered it, disposed of it, and used the preserved skull for sexual stimulus. With Dahmer's habit of bringing men back to her home and the smell that came from his living quarters in the basement, his grandmother told him to leave her home. However, Jeffrey Dahmer did return there from time to time.
Jeffrey Dahmer's murders continued in the same way through 1991. Jeffrey Dahmer would lure the victims to his home and drug them. Some were teen prostitute boys, but he had an interest in African-American men. Sometimes Jeffrey Dahmer would have sex with their unconscious bodies or after they died.
Jeffrey Dahmer started consuming their flesh and learning of different ways to dispose of their bodies. Often Jeffrey Dahmer would keep some of their preserved bodies in his home. This is how he was discovered. Tracy Edwards was found drugged and handcuffed in the streets. The police followed up on his claims and searched Dahmer's house.
They found all of the evidence from the murders from body parts to photos of the stages of killings. Jeffrey Dahmer confessed, but his defense team pleaded mercy for reasons of insanity. When Jeffrey Dahmer went to trial, Jeffrey Dahmer was convicted of fifteen murders. Each murder carried a life imprisonment sentence. Jeffrey Dahmer was also tried for the murder in Ohio in 1978. Jeffrey Dahmer was sentenced to another life imprisonment punishment for a total of sixteen life terms. Jeffrey Dahmer died on November 28, 1994, at Columbia Correctional Institution at the age of 34. Jeffrey Dahmer was killed by an inmate, Christopher Scarver, who was incarcerated with him.
