Michelle Williams is an Award-winning American actress who earned her recognition in films such as the 1998-2003 series titled, ‘Dawson’s Creek,' ‘Brokeback Mountain ‘in 2005 and ‘Blue Valentine’ in 2010.
Early Life
Michelle Williams is a daughter of Carla Ingrid and Larry Richard Williams, born on September 9, 1980, in Kalispell Montana. At the age of nine, the family moved to San Diego where she became interested in acting at an early age after she saw the film, ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.’
At the age of 15, she signed emancipation from her parents so that she could pursue her acting career without interference from child labor work laws. She enrolled at Santa Fe Christian School in California which she left after grade nine and later graduated from a correspondence school with a GED.
Career
Michelle Williams started acting in early 1990’s with a guest appearance on television programs such as, ‘Home Improvement’ and ‘Step by Step.’ In 1993, she played the character of Bridget Bowers in ‘Baywatch’ and later performed in an adventure film, ‘Lassie’ in 1994. The performance followed another role in ‘Species’ where she portrayed the character of Sil, an alien-human.
In 1996, she played in the television movie, ‘My Son Is Innocent’ followed by a more dramatic work as a member of Susan’s geek clique in, ‘Killing Mr. Griffin’. Williams moved to California where she played in the ‘Dawson’s Creek.' Unhappy with the roles she received; she collaborated alongside several actors and wrote ‘Blink’ in 1977.
From 1993-2003, Michelle Williams starred alongside James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson in a teen drama series, ‘Dawson’s Creek’ who raided her fame. At the age of 17, she played the character of Jen Lindley in a semi-autobiographical series based on Kevin Williamson’s childhood.
Moreover, she acted a slasher movie, ‘Halloween H2O: 20 Years Later’ in 1998. A year later, she played alongside Kristen Dunst in a comedy titled, ‘Dick’ and took a more challenging work in ‘But I’m a Cheerleader'. In 2005, she appeared in ‘Imaginary Heroes’ and starred in ‘A Hole in One’ followed by a starring role in ‘The Baxter’. She also gained public recognition for a film, ‘Brokeback Mountain’ which depicted homosexual relationship and later played the role of Alma in ‘The Station Agent’ which received 8 Oscar Nominations and won three accolades at the 78th Academy Awards.

Michelle Williams started dating Heath Ledger in 2004 and gave birth to his daughter on October 28, 2005. The couple ended their relationship in September 2007. Ledger died in January 2008 from combined drug intoxication which got the family a lot of public and media attention. On July 2008, she started dating Spike Jonze a relationship that ended up in September 2009.
