Childhood And Early Life
American actor, producer, and screenwriter Owen Wilson was born on the 18 November 1968 to Robert Wilson and Laura Cunningham. His family is of Irish American ancestry. He has two brothers: Andrew and Luke. Wilson Snr. was a pioneering television executive in Dallas, Texas.
Education
After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, Owen Wilson entered the New México Military Institute. He then obtained a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in English. It was at university in Texas where he met Wes Anderson, his future collaborator.
Rise To Fame
Owen Wilson first appearance on film was in Bottle Rocket in 1996. (The script of Bottle Rocket, which he co-wrote with Anderson, was originally written as a short film which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 1994). Owen Wilson then appeared in films such The Cable Guy (1996), The Haunting (1999), Anaconda (1997).
Career
By 2000 Owen Wilson was in Shanghai Noon (2000) with Jackie Chan, and the film was a massive hit. He followed this up with Zoolander (2001) and Behind Enemy Lines (2001). He then starred with Eddie Murphy in I Spy (2002), with Jackie Chan in Shanghai Knights (2003), Around the World in 80 Days (2004), Wedding Crashers (2005), The Wendell Baker Story (2005). He subsequently went on to appear in dozens of films including starring with Ben Still in twelve films. These included: Zoolander (2001), Zoolander 2 (2016), Meet the Fockers (2004), Night at the Museum (2006) and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014).
Awards And Achievements
Owen Wilson has won numerous nominations and awards including a 2012 Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture: Comedy or Musical for Midnight in Paris (2011), Central Ohio Film Critics Association Best Ensemble award in 2015 for The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) and in 2013 he shared the CinemaCon: Comedy Duo of the Year award with Vince Vaughn. He co-wrote the script of Rushmore with Wes Anderson, and they received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
Personal Life
Owen Wilson has been involved with some high profile partners including Sheryl Crow and Kate Hudson. He had a son, Robert Ford Wilson, with his girlfriend at the time, Jade Duell, in 2011. And in 2014, had another child, a son Finn, with Caroline Lindqvist.
